Academic learning enriches practical training on farms through lessons, reflections and discussions with other Stewards and leaders in the field. Two 12-week courses offer a holistic understanding of how the global food crisis came to be, and how to address these challenges with real-world strategies grounded in agroecological principals.
Courses have been designed to compliment practical training. Therefore, it is recommended to take “Introductory Topics in Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems” while interning or training on a local farm, and “Agroecology: A Global Context” while working with MESA's Global Partners on farms abroad.
Courses and faculty descriptions will be available online, beginning Winter 2012. Course fees TBD.
